“Our fourth quarter results capped an outstanding year for Live Nation,” said Michael Rapino, President and Chief Executive Officer. “We continued to successfully execute our strategy, and we generated improved results across our business. Both the number of concerts we produced and ticket sales increased over the prior year, outpacing the industry. We also achieved considerable strength in our sponsorship business, as we continued to attract larger and more profitable advertising and marketing campaigns. Highlights: -- Entered into a definitive merger agreement with Ticketmaster Entertainment, Inc. to create the world's premier live entertainment company with a combined enterprise value of approximately $2.5 billion. -- Continued our strategy to increase relationships with larger corporate sponsors, generating an increase in average revenue per sponsor of nearly 15% for the year. National sponsors include BlackBerry, Burger King and State Farm.
