NEW YORK, April 6, 2011 /PRNewswire/ — Following sold-out performances throughout North America, Europe and Australia, the celebrated Symphonicity world tour was recently extended to include additional performances across Europe this summer (see below itinerary). In keeping with tradition and in preparation for the summer tour, Sting will perform a special concert, exclusively for Sting.com fan club members, at the Apollo Theater in New York City on Thursday, April 28 at 8PM.
Tickets for the Apollo concert will go on sale exclusively to members of Sting’s fan club beginning Friday, April 8 at 12NOON/EDT via http://tickets.sting.com/. Legacy fan club members will enjoy a one-hour advance window to purchase tickets, followed by a general on-sale to all members beginning at 1PM/EDT. All tickets are $75.00 each (plus applicable service charges). As quantities are limited, each member will have the opportunity to purchase up to 4 tickets on a first come, first served basis.
VIP Packages are also available for purchase at $150 each (plus service fees), which include one seat located within the first 10 rows of the theater plus admission to a pre-show cocktail reception, with beer/wine and light fare served, in the Soundstage room at the Apollo Theater.
In order to purchase tickets or VIP packages, Sting.com fan club members must retrieve their unique access code at http://tickets.sting.com/. This code must then be entered at point of purchase on the Ticketmaster website.
To become a fan club member, please visit https://signup.sting.com/. In addition to the opportunity to purchase tickets to this exclusive, members-only event, fan club members also enjoy access to advance ticket purchases, exclusive behind-the-scenes video footage and photos, members-only contests, and interaction with thousands of fans from around the world within the Sting.com community.
The Symphonicity tour finds Sting performing his greatest hits, re-imagined for symphonic arrangement, accompanied by esteemed local orchestras and a group of accomplished musicians, comprised of Dominic Miller (Sting’s longtime guitarist), Rhani Krija (Sting’s longtime multi-genre percussionist), Jo Lawry (vocalist) and Ira Coleman (bassist). These performances will also feature a conductor new to the Symphonicity tour, Sarah Hicks, cited in the New York Times as part of a “new wave of female conductors.” In 2009, Sarah was named Principal Conductor, Pops and Presentations of the Minnesota Orchestra, and concurrently holds the positions of both Associate Conductor of the North Carolina Symphony and Staff Conductor at the Curtis Institute of Music.
To accompany the Symphonicity world tour, Deutsche Grammophon/Cherrytree Records released a live CD/DVD package, Live in Berlin, featuring the Royal Philharmonic Concert Orchestra, conducted by Steven Mercurio, in November 2010. The exclusive collection features previously unreleased material and many of his greatest hits, such as “Roxanne,” “Every Little Thing She Does Is Magic,” “King Of Pain,” “Fields Of Gold,” and more, all re-imagined for symphonic arrangement. Deutsche Grammophon/Cherrytree Records also released a companion studio album, Symphonicities, in July 2010 to critical acclaim.
The world tour is promoted by Live Nation and produced by RZO Entertainment, Inc. in association with Universal Music Classical Management & Productions.
